On Wednesday, January 22nd, the Concord School Board voted to reverse their December 2023 decision to build the new middle school at the Broken Ground property and voted in favor of building the new middle school on the site of the existing Rundlett middle school. Thank you to everyone who followed and participated in this decision making process and thank you to the Concord School Board for listening. We all acknowledge that the process that got us here has been very difficult and it has come at a cost. Trust in our elected officials and staff was eroded and our district charter was amended.
So, what next? Concord Greenspace Coalition believes now is the time to move forward together to build the best school possible for Concord’s students and teachers, balancing their needs with those of the community. We hope that everyone will support our officials in moving forward to build a new school as soon as possible. Concord Greenspace will stay tuned to the next steps determined by the School Board and will share information about opportunities for engagement on committees and at meetings.
The Concord Greenspace Coalition enters 2025 invigorated to focus on the three pillars of our mission: smart growth, equitable development, and local climate action. As always contact us via email at info@concordgreenspace.com or via our website (https://www.concordgreenspacecoalition.com).
Gratefully,
CG3
